Discover the coast by bike
Between the sea and the countryside, the Bessin coast is perfect for exploring by bike. From the Hôtel de la Plage, it's just a short ride to join the coastal cycle route and discover the iconic landscapes of Normandy. Cliffs, sandy beaches, small harbors, and charming villages dot the routes that connect Asnelles, Arromanches-les-Bains, and the other D-Day Landing Beaches.
Those who enjoy leisurely walks will appreciate the accessible routes along the sea, while more athletic cyclists can explore the hinterland and the roads of Bessin, between hedgerows, traditional farms and panoramas of the English Channel.
Along the way, take the time to stop and admire the view, discover the local heritage, or simply enjoy the sea air. By bike, Normandy reveals itself in a different light: closer, more authentic, and undeniably peaceful.

Try your hand at water sports
The Normandy coast offers an ideal playground for learning water sports and fully enjoying the sea. Near the Hôtel de la Plage, several activities allow you to discover the coastline in a different way, within an exceptional natural setting.
Try land sailing on the vast sandy beaches, let yourself be carried by the waves on a paddleboard or sea kayak, or discover the thrill of sailing with professional guidance. These activities are accessible to both beginners and more experienced participants.
The bay of Asnelles and Arromanches is particularly appreciated for its open landscapes and unique maritime atmosphere, where one sometimes sails facing the remains of the artificial port of the D-Day landings.
Between adrenaline, discovery and fresh air, water sports offer an unforgettable experience to enjoy the sea and the Normandy landscapes from a different perspective.

Discover the local specialties
A stay in Normandy is also an invitation to discover a generous and authentic cuisine. In the Bessin region and the surrounding villages, producers and artisans perpetuate renowned skills that contribute to the richness of the Norman terroir.
Iconic cheeses like Camembert, Pont-l'Évêque or Livarot, oysters and shellfish from the coast, Isigny butter and cream, not forgetting cider and Calvados: each specialty tells a story and a deep attachment to the land.
Restaurants, local markets and producers' farms allow you to taste these products in a friendly setting and often directly at their place of production.
As you make culinary discoveries, you will taste the authenticity of Normandy, between marine flavors and agricultural traditions, for a gourmet experience that is fully part of the journey.

Discover the history of Normandy
The Bessin coast is one of the most significant places in 20th-century history. Just a few minutes from the Hôtel de la Plage, the famous D-Day Landing Beaches still bear witness to the events of June 6, 1944.
In Arromanches-les-Bains, you can see the remains of the Mulberry artificial harbor, an impressive logistical structure built by the Allies to support the advancing troops. The Arromanches Landing Museum provides a better understanding of the scale of this historic operation.
History enthusiasts can also visit Omaha Beach, the American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer or Gold Beach, located a few kilometers away.
Between museums, historical sites and landscapes steeped in memory, the region offers a moving and informative journey to better understand the history of Normandy and the events that marked the liberation of Europe.
